Back to home

Welcome back!

I'm here after a long time... I guess. I've had a "great" idea for an article; it's half-finished now, but recent things (maybe not that recent), that have happened on a Discord server I moderate, have convinced me to not publish it. My site is now basically dead and contains a lot of pages I only made to... have a lot of pages. Having a website is "cool" etc, but I don't think mine presented a lot of valuable information. It was outdated, had pages which only existed, because someone else made them... and I remade them.

Although I don't want to maintain that old site now, I'll still give you a friendly reminder that you can see its source on GitHub and still visit some parts of it, either through cloning the repo and browsing it through the browser, or by visiting a legacy, still-existing site and navigating to others through the navbar.

make: there is nothing to do

I have recently encountered a lack of motivation to continue updating my old site and I think everyone I follow here, on Neocities, also went this way. There are not as many updates as when I have discovered this movement for the very first time, and even if there are any, they are probably the ones, which I don't think deserve much attention.

I haven't seen any new interesting websites, even after scrolling through the: winners of Petrapixel's indie web contest. Maybe that's because what someone on Eclair25's Discord server has pointed out. More specificaly, it's that you don't make a website in 30 minutes, that's the amount of time you could for example make a simple short-form video.

The message. More of an 404 error. The message. More of an 404 error, because I wasn't able to find it.

Yeah, that's probably true. Make a template engine. Or an i-frame site.

This section is NSFW. Skip it.

Yes... that was the thing I was making recently. I got fascinated with the idea that nudity can be asexual and decided to research the topic. I don't think I would do it again knowing how it changed my perception of other people's half-naked bodies.

I won't give you the half-finished article but if you want to research the topic I will give you the sources I have used in my first version of the article.

Naturists in a river Naturists in a river (2014).

By the way, Wikipedia has great articles about nudity in general, nudity in different cultures, naturism, exbitionism and many more. If I have convinced you to research this topic, start from there. 4chan sometimes has interesting public nudity stories on /b/, that's the source I originally found out about nudist beaches, then about naturism.

My programming de-motivation

Recently I don't know what should I program ngl. I usually code my own social-media platform and I maintain a all-in-one Discord bot (I mean... app, see below), which is btw fully open-source.

Now, I prefer hanging up on Eclairbakery for some reason. I just don't have motivation or want to develop EclairBOT, which is basically nearly done and there is nothing I can add without making bloat no one would use. My social-media platform on the other hand is overengineered and made to run on multiple servers, even though no one needs that. I'm building products at scale, before running first production tests...

Someone would now just say that I should make a contribution to some open-source projects, but I'm not comfortable with working with big codebases I don't fully understand.

What now?

Not gonna lie, I don't know. This is not a big article and wasn't meant to be one. It's just random thoughts sitting in the back of my head.
